This one-of-a-kind bowl is a meeting point between fire and earth—temmoku glaze pooled deep and dark inside, echoing ancient Japanese traditions, while the outside remains raw and expressive, brushed with low-fire clay slip that reveals the story of its making.
The contrast is intentional. The inside is smooth, deep, and reflective—molten iron hues shifting with the light. The outside tells a rougher truth: raw stoneware beneath a thin coat of clear glaze, marked with layered strokes of clay slip. The result is organic, wild, and tactile.
Sturdy lightweight, this bowl is perfect for daily use—holding fruit, nuts, or tea snacks. Fired at cone 10, it’s food-safe and dishwasher safe, though hand-washing will best preserve its textures over time.
