Welcome to my studio.
My name is Simona, and this shop is born from a deep need for slowness, stillness, and connection to the earth in a world that often feels chaotic and too fast.
My work focuses on functional ceramics—mostly rustic bowls, platters, and the unique molten sea glass incense holders you see here. I work primarily with the earth's raw materials, embracing the texture and imperfection of the clay to create pieces that feel grounded and honest. My goal is to bring the quiet dignity of the slow, hand-made process back into your daily rituals.
The Alchemy of Slow Making:
Each piece is a deliberate act of creation, a physical meditation. The rustic, wabi-sabi aesthetic of my bowls and platters is a conscious choice, reflecting a belief that true beauty lies in the imperfect and the enduring. This philosophy is most evident in my signature incense holders, where I use fire to perform a small act of alchemy, fusing hand-collected beach glass into the ceramic form. This process captures a piece of the wild coast, transforming found materials into an object for your sacred space.
Contribution Through Craft:
The journey of making is also a journey of healing. I live and work with a permanent arm disability, which means every bowl thrown and every piece glazed requires conscious effort and adaptation. This reality dictates the pace of my work—it must be slow, intentional, and mindful.
While my contribution to the world may be in small, measured steps, I consider it a profound honor. By creating functional, beautiful objects, I am able to contribute to society, not in spite of my limitations, but through the very discipline they require. My hope is that the stillness I find in the clay is transferred to the final piece, offering you a small, tangible anchor of peace in your own fast-moving life.
When you purchase a piece from my shop, you are not just acquiring a ceramic object; you are supporting a process of healing, slowness, and a commitment to honest, earth-based craft.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
